The greatest to ever play in the NHL, winning four Stanley Cups over the course of his 20-year National Hockey League career and having his number “99” retired league wide, Wayne Gretzky still holds or shares 60 records set during his career even 23 seasons after his retirement. Offered here is this lot consisting of eight (8) cards of Wayne’s from 1998-99 to 2000-01 with half having been graded by Beckett. Headlining the graded group in terms of value, is a copy of Wayne’s 2000-01 Upper Deck 500 Goal Club “A Piece of History” jersey card that has earned a NEAR MINT+ 7.5 and features a piece of black jersey swatch from one of Gretzky’s game-worn jerseys. Other slabbed examples include a 1999-00 Upper Deck Retro “Retro Memento” stick card that has earned a NM-MT+ 8.5, a 1999-00 Upper Deck Retro “Retro Gold” card, serial numbered “084/150” over the front, it has been graded an esteemed GEM MINT 9.5 and lastly, a 1998-99 Upper Deck Black Diamond “Winning Formula Gold” that is serial numbered “0455/1150” and been deemed worthy of a NM-MT+ 8.5. The group is rounded out with loose cards including a 1999-2000 Upper Deck Century Legends “Jerseys of the Century” that has light edge, corner and surface wear, a 2000-01 Upper Deck Heroes “Game Used Twigs” with light edge and corner wear, a 1999-00 Upper Deck MVP Stanley Cup Edition “Great Combinations” of Gretzky and Mike Richter that shows a piece of game-used puck and remains in good condition with light corner and edge wear with surface issues on the reverse and lastly, a 2000-01 Upper Deck Legends “Legendary Game Jersey” of Wayne that has a two colour swatch from one of his game-worn Los Angeles jerseys and shows light corner wear with a couple of edge dings.
