A sure fire first ballot Hall of Famer, by the time LeBron James was thirty years old he had already been a household name for half of his life. Entering public consciousness as the most heralded high school phenom the game of basketball had ever seen, legendary former UCLA coach John Wooden said of LeBron that “He’s as dominant a player I’ve seen since Oscar Robertson”. Selected first overall by his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, in the 2003 NBA Draft, LeBron has gone on to a career spanning 20 seasons and counting and has won four championships along with countless awards including 4 NBA Finals MVP’s, 4 NBA MVP’s, 2 Olympic gold medals with Team USA, Rookie of the Year in 2004 and 18 straight NBA All-Star selections as of this writing. He’s that good.
The 2003 Ultimate Collection release by Upper Deck was just that, an ultimate collection of some of the best cards ever seen at that time. Circulated in boxes with 4 packs per box and 4 cards per pack, every card was a limited-edition offering with base cards numbered /750 and the numerous inserts and parallels featuring autographs, jersey pieces and patches were all limited from /500 down to next to impossible to find 1 of 1 treasures. Featuring a strong rookie class, the undisputed top chase in the set are those cards carrying the name of LeBron James.
Offered here is a beautiful copy of card #127 that has been autographed by the basketball superstar. Examined and slabbed by the graders at PSA, they have deemed the card worthy of a desirable high-grade MINT 9 designation. Serial numbered “121/250”, the card is in fantastic condition with sharp corners, crisp colours, smooth edges and clean surfaces on both the front and back. Additionally, LeBron has signed the bottom of the card under his image with a stunning crisp blue ink signature that displays without issue. Of note, the grade on the card is for the card itself and does not include the autograph. Housed in a PSA holder that shows only the smallest scratches and scuffs over each side, the card is sure to be a premium brag worthy addition to your high-end collection.
