Assembling for the first time as the Russian National Team in 1992 after the fall of the Soviet Union, the country achieved a worldwide ranking of 1st in 2009 and won their first international gold medal in 1993 at the IIHF World Championships. Having won a total of four (4) Olympic medals, including a gold as "Olympic Athletes from Russia" in 2018, offered here is this pair of game-worn Russian National Team jerseys from the Mid-to-Late-1990s. Both made by Nike and featuring brand/size "54" labels affixed to their inner collars along with additional "Made in Canada" tags in a couple of different styles, two different versions of Nike's logo have been sublimated into the material of the jersey over the left shoulder and right collar bone. Both decorated over the front with "Russia" in Cyrillic and the country's coat of arms in a hockey theme that has once again been sublimated into the material of the bright red garment, one of the jerseys sports a hastily sewn on IIHF 90th Anniversary patch that was worn on national team jerseys at tournaments and competitions in 1998. With one of the jerseys accented over the sleeves and verso with the number "9" in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals, the second displays the number "4" in matching style over the same areas. For the number "9" jersey, a nameplate with "Kudashov" spelt out across it in single layer white twill letters is found affixed to the upper back, possible denoting that it was worn by Alexei Kudashov in the era, while evidence of a removed nameplate is seen at the upper reverse of the number "4" garment. Both displaying with good game-wear as well as heavy sweat staining at both collars and some fabric snags that are worthy of mention for accuracy, battle scars are evident via stick marks, board burns, unrepaired holes/cuts, coloured board paint transfer marks and pilling on the interiors which also both still feature their fight straps. Said to have been received by our consignor right from Russian National Team trainers while on a trip overseas, don't miss out on these gorgeous international offerings.
