Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
Unique one-of-a-kind items representing the greatest international hockey tournament in history, and brought back from Russia by our consignor, we have a 1972 Canada-Russia Series Game 5, 6, 7 and 8 ticket stubs framed display with puck signed by Paul Henderson, and a Canadian fans bus identifier sign multi-signed by Canadian fans. First, the ticket display is 15" x 22, with all four tickets mounted and centered by the puck signed by Henderson (faint signature, wear to the puck), with a matted small print of Henderson's famous goal. Next, the bus sign is 8 1/2" x 22" and mounted to a wooden backing, with the text to include, "USSR - Canada - URSS" and "Hockey", along with Air Canada and Aeroflot logos, with 30 signing in mixed inks, with many listing their home city. There is wear and creasing to the sign. Pages of documents pertaining to both items including pages from the magazine The Andrean showing both items will accompany, with the consignor also interestingly mentioning that he acquired the sign while in Moscow and passed it around the bus to have fans sign! Canada-Russia Series memorabilia at it's finest!
