After five seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, Alexei Kovalev would stay in Canada by signing a two-year deal with the Ottawa Senators that began with the 2009-10 campaign in which he would score his 400th career National Hockey League goal. Hailing from his first season in Canada’s capital city, we offer this Senators jersey worn by Kovalev in 2009-10. Sporting a single size “58” label affixed to the inner collar, crests for the NHL and Reebok are found over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with a textured Senators team crest, matching alternate logo patches reside over each shoulder. The sleeves and verso of the jersey have had Kovalev’s number “27” sewn to them in dual layer white-over-black numerals with “Kovalev” in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting light-to-moderate game-use, board burns are observed over each sleeve while stick marks are found at the lower front and left ribcage. Additional wear is found near the right elbow via green and red board paint transfers and pilling to hems. The fight strap has been cut out of the interior of the jersey while a MeiGray patch numbered “G06902” has been sewn to the inside and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “Red Set 1” specimen. A matching Senators LOA will accompany the piece.
