Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
Ever-popular 1968-69 O-Pee-Chee cards are offered up here and show moderate handling and wear but minimal abuse, with crease-free VG+, VG-EX and VG-EX+ cards combining to dominate and joined by lesser amounts of EX-or-better examples, with sub-VGs also involved. Classic diamond cuts are observed with many 1st Series entries, while nicer overall are 2nd Series cards. Some of the set’s keys are involved in the inferior roster, with 2-Orr (F) exhibiting moisture warping to go along with other visible flaws. Bobby’s 200-All-Star issue is a decent VG+ contributor, while 214-Norris Trophy (VG) is affected by a production-caused vertical wrinkle. Bernie Parent’s RC and 1-Harvey are shy of VG in our book, with 64-Redmond RC at VG+. Both Bobby Hulls, along with 181-Plante are in the VG neighborhood, with notables making it to EX or a tad beyond being 7-Esposito, 164-Vachon, 165-Richard and 213-Sanderson Calder. A scotch tape mark is spotted on the back of 203-Howe All-Star, with Gordie’s regular issue, along with the two checklists, among the eight cards not present. Others are 23-Crozier, 26-Douglas, 63-Lemaire, 148-Goldsworthy RC and 184-Lacroix RC. A few options for the new owner of these classic collectibles.
