Featuring portrait images on colourful backgrounds with the team names in matching colours underneath, the new owner of this 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee set, comprised of 264 cards, can expect a majority of VG to EX specimens on average with a small percentage of lesser and better examples also featured. Sporting a quartet of key rookie releases, #195 of Bobby Clarke is the best condition of the four, failing in the range of EX/EX-MT while #131 of Gilbert Perreault and #218 of Darryl Sittler find themselves in the vicinity of EX and showing corner wear. The last of the RC’s, #67 of Brad Park, around VG condition, has numerous light creases worth mentioning. Other key cards include #3-Orr (G/VG – crease), #15-Hull (G/G+), #29-Howe (VG-EX), #55-Beliveau (VG-EX/EX) and #231-Sawchuk (VG-EX/EX). The all-star and trophy winner cards of Orr that are found in the latter part of the set including #236 (VG), #246 (EX), #248 (G), #249 (EX/EX-MT) and #252 (VG) are joined by checklists #24 (G/G+) and #132 (F/G) with both being marked. Cards #30, #63, #69, #77, #102, #117 and #264 all show notable creases while #57, the 2nd year card of Jacques Lemaire, is in VG/VG+ range, hampered by a crease running vertically down from the top edge. Overall, still an enjoyable set to thumb through despite not being high-grade.
