Leading the Montreal Canadiens to consecutive 100-point seasons in 1988 and 1989 during his captaincy, Bob Gainey was a six-time Stanley Cup champion with the Habs, with four Frank J Selke Trophies earned along with the Conn Smythe, in 1979. Originating from his jersey retirement night on Feb 23, 2008, where his #23 was raised to the rafters, never to be worn again, we offer this Columbus Blue Jackets Bob Gainey tribute jersey worn during pre-game warm-ups by Ole-Kristian Tollefsen. Made by Reebok, a size “56” label is affixed to the inner collar, along with a Bob Gainey Night patch above, while NHL and Reebok crests are featured over the front and back necklines respectively. Sporting a textured Blue Jackets team crest over the front with embroidered details, alternate logo patches are found over each shoulder. The sleeves and verso of the jersey have been accented with Gainey’s famed number “23” in place of Tollefsen’s usual number “55”, in dual layer navy-over-red tackle twill with “Tollefsen” spelt across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer navy letters. Both Tollefsen and Gainey have signed the back numbers, with each doing so in silver marker. Both autographs display without issue. Worn for just the warm-ups, the jersey shows no obvious signs of use and remains in fantastic condition. A matching COA from the Blue Jackets will accompany the piece.
