A product of the Bemidji State Beavers in the NCAA, Matt Read would sign with the Philadelphia Flyers after going undrafted and play parts of seven (7) NHL seasons with the Broad Street Bullies. From his rookie season of 2011-12, we offer this Philadelphia Flyers jersey worn by Read. Featuring a size “54” label affixed to the inner collar, crests for the NHL and Reebok are found over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated with the Flyers crest over the front in layered tackle twill, Read’s number “24” has been sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer orange-over-black tackle twill numerals with white-over-black on the reverse. “Read” is seen over the affixed white twill nameplate in single layer black twill letters. Sporting light game-use, stick marks are seen over the front, reverse and both sleeves with additional wear seen via coloured board paint transfers to the right arm and reverse as well as a small cut through one layer of fabric at the right elbow. Of note, a small brown coloured stain is observed over the left elbow as well. A MeiGray tag numbered “I03464” is sewn to the reverse interior of the jersey and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is an “Orange Set 2” specimen. A matching Flyers LOA will accompany the piece.
