Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
The reining Stanley Cup champions, the Toronto Maple Leafs would add another of Lord Stanley’s mugs to the trophy case at Maple Leaf Gardens, winning their second of three straight Stanley Cups in the Spring of 1963. Hailing from the Cup clinching Game 5, won by Toronto 3-1, we offer this Maple Leaf Gardens program from the 1963 Stanley Cup Finals. Measuring roughly 7” x 10”, the complete 84-page booklet shows a black-and-white photo of Kent Douglas on the cover as well the original purchase price of .35 cents. The center line-up remains intact, displaying “Stanley Cup Finals – Series “C” Fifth Game” as well as the date of April 18th, 1963 and the names of no fewer than 17 future HOF inductees between the two clubs. In good condition, the interior pages exhibit some toning while the front and back covers show wear in the form of edge, corner and surface wear as well as light creasing/wrinkles. The spine shows a small tear near the bottom on the program while the staples remain rust free.
