A star with Moscow Dynamo during the 1980s in the Soviet Union, Anatoli Semenov would also represent his home nation on numerous occasions, winning a gold medal at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. Drafted by the Edmonton Oilers 120th overall in 1989, we offer this jersey worn by the Russian during his rookie season of 1990-91. A CCM made offering with the CCM logo and NHL shield embroidered into the reverse hem, a Maska label with a handwritten “54” is affixed to the inner collar with “90/91 3” for the year and set, written above in black ink. Styled over the front with the Oilers team crest in layered tackle twill, Semenov’s number “19” is sewn to each sleeve and reverse in tri-layer tackle twill with “Semenov” spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Sporting good game-use, the jersey is riddled with dark stick marks over the body and sleeves with team repairs, some of which are material backed, and unrepaired holes also being found over each sleeve and the front. Board burns and paint transfers are also exhibited with the fight strap on the interior showing evidence of numerous washings while having a tag attached that has “13696” written on it. A handful of light brown liquid stains are also found throughout.
