Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023

Traded to the Colorado Avalanche from the Montreal Canadiens in what is regarded as one of the most lopsided trades in NHL history, Patrick Roy would backstop the Avs to two Stanley Cups during his tenure with the club, winning the Conn Smyth Trophy in 2001. Hailing from the late-1990s, we offer this stick used by Roy with the Avalanche. A KOHO Revolution model with a heavily “P. Roy” stamp over the upper shaft, the factory date code that would have been stamped alongside it is no longer visible. Retaining its original tape job of white tape over the blade and lower paddle and black cloth-over-white on the handle and upper shaft, the stick shows light use through a few marks over the paddle and shaft with a puck mark seen on the backside of the blade tape at the heel as well. A small red post paint transfer is also observed where the hand grips the stick. Additionally, St. Patrick has signed the forehand side of the blade tape with a fine black marker ink signature that displays without issue.
