Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023

A brilliant hockey player and mind that saw his career cut short far too soon, Vladimir Konstantinov would play 446 games in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings after breaking free of the Iron Curtain and Soviet Union and coming to North America in 1991. Offered here, is this stick used by Konstantinov during the mid-1990s. An Easton HX A/C 7100 model, used by Konstantinov in both the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons, in black with gold accents, “Konstantinov” is stamped to the top of the inserted Christian blade. Vladdy’s original white tape job remains in place over both the knob and blade with a handwritten “16” being found over the knob tape. Showing good game-use, numerous abrasions are seen throughout the aluminum shaft with puck marks decorating both the taped and untaped sections of the blade as well, with some wear observed on the bottom edge of the blade as well. Additionally, Konstantinov has signed the forehand side of the blade with a blue ink signature that displays well despite some fading and aging of the autograph.
