Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
Originally drafted 116th overall in 1995 by the San Jose Sharks, Miikka Kiprusoff would only play 47 games over 3 years with the club before being traded to the Calgary Flames and becoming their winningest goaltender in franchise history, winning the Vezina Trophy in 2006 along the way. A bronze medalist with Finland at the 2010 Olympic Games, offered here is this stick used by Kiprusoff. A Warrior Swagger model with “Kiprusoff” stamped to the upper shaft, the stick retains its original white tape job over the knob/shaft, handle and blade while a single ring of clear tape finishes the ends of the white wrapping on the shaft and handle. Exhibiting heavy use, the blade tape sports numerous puck marks over each side with tears to the tape also observed. Puck marks also decorate the paddle and shaft, with cracks from a shot seen on the upper edge of the paddle and bottom edge of the shaft. Lots of red post paint transfers are seen over the backside of the shaft as well.
