Regularly suiting up for his home country of Austria over the course of his career, Thomas Vanek was called to arms again, joining Team Austria for the 2013 IIHF World Hockey Championships held in Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden, with Vanek posting 6 points in 7 games played. Hailing from that tournament, is this Team Austria jersey issued to but never used by Vanek. A size “62” garment, the Nike logo sits screened-on the inside collar above an IIHF label, with an additional Nike swoosh present over the right breast. Featuring a Team Austria crest that displays embroidered details affixed on over the front, “Osterreich” (Austria) is found underneath in individually sewn on red twill letters. Of note, Vanek served as an alternate captain at the tournament but this jersey does not have the alternate captain’s “A” in place over the left breast with no sign there ever was one added. Sporting sponsorship patches residing below the numbers on each sleeve, the sleeves and verso have been decorated with Vanek’s number “26” in single layer red twill letters with “Vanek” spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in matching style letters that have been heat pressed on. With a Nike Team Sports found on the inside of the jersey, an IIHF logo patch is present over the reverse hem. Having never been worn, the jersey remains in excellent condition with a small liquid stain present at the right shoulder near the "Team Austria" federation logo. Additionally, Vanek has signed the reverse number “6” with a black ink signature that displays without issue.
