Jumping over from the WHA in the Summer of 1978 when he signed a contract with the New York Rangers, Ulf Nilsson would register 169 points in 170 games played in the National Hockey League. From circa 1980, we offer this New York Rangers jersey worn by the Swedish superstar during either the 1979-80 or 1980-81 seasons. Made by Stall and Dean made heavy mesh offering, tagging from customizer Gerry Cosby is affixed to the inner collar along with additional wash and size “56” designation tags. Decorated over the front with “Rangers” diagonally down the chest in individual drop-shadow tackle twill letters, Nilsson’s number “11” has been sewn to the sleeves and verso with “Nilsson” stitched directly to the jersey above in matching material and style. Featuring a suspender style fight strap on the interior, the jersey sports good game-use with stick marks, board burns unrepaired holes and team repairs observed over each of the customized shortened sleeves. The front shows a team repair as well as stick marks while a board burn is seen on the reverse. Having been washed multiple times, it should be noted the white parts of the jersey have an even blue hue to them from colour bleed. Nilsson has signed the bottom of the second “1” on the back of the jersey with a black ink signature that displays well with light fading. Hailing from his personal collection, an LOA signed by Ulf Nilsson will accompany the piece.
