Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Captured here in his first game in a Red Sox uniform at Fitton Field in Worcester, MA, Ted Williams wouldn’t disappoint, hitting a grand-slam in his first at-bat, to cap a five run first inning. A 16” x 20” photograph of Williams at the plate in that very game, baseball’s greatest hitter of all-time has penned his elegant and flowing signature in blue ink just above home plate. Housed in a classy deep brown wooden frame that measures approx. 27” x 23”, the photo is displayed under a textured taupe matte with a wood border that matches the frame. It should be noted that the frame shows scratches and dings around the edges with wear to the corners as well. The piece is accompanied by a JSA LOA.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping.
