Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
National rock gods as the best-selling Canadian band in Canada for two decades, The Tragically Hip were formed in historic Kingston, and released 13 studio albums throughout their tenure. With the tragic loss of frontman Gord Downie to cancer in 2017, the group no longer performs under the band name. Included in this lot is promo t-shirt from the group’s seventh studio album, “Music @ Work” that has been signed by 5 members of the band. A heather blue size XL shirt with a tree graphic over the front and back, the signers include Gord Downie, Johnny Fay, Paul Langlois, Rob Baker and Gord Sinclair. All the autographs are signed in either silver or black and display without issue while the shirt has white paint stains over left shoulder with toning to the bottom. A JSA sticker numbered “XX73029” is affixed to the collar tagging and is accompanied by a matching LOA. Also included is a 1990 CRIA Platinum Award from the band’s 1989 release “Up to Here”. Measuring 14 7/8” x 15 3/8”, The display shows a copy of the CD and album artwork with plaques underneath celebrating 100,000 units sold as well as platinum certification. Contained under blue mattes and housed in a sleek chrome frame that shows scratches, similar wear is also seen on the glass as well.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping.
