The American League MVP in 2004, Vladimir Guerrero Sr. was a fan-favourite during his eight years spent north of the border with the Montreal Expos, becoming the game’s premier “bad-ball hitter” and never having a batting average lower than .316 during his tenure. Offered here, is this Montreal Expos batting helmet used and worn by Guerrero Sr. circa late-1990s/early-2000s. Made by American Baseball Company, a size sticker from the brand is found on the interior display size 7 3/8 while the manufacture date of 08/98 is also seen. An Expos logo decal is affixed to the front of the helmet with “27” and MLB logo stickers applied to the reverse. Showing good game-use and displaying well, numerous scuffs, scratches and abrasions are seen throughout the piece with dried pine tar coated above the front logo as well as on the brim. Having no cracks with all the interior padding intact, the helmet is sure to make you reminisce about the elder Guerrero’s time thrilling fans of “Nos Amours”. Additionally included, is a Louisville Slugger folk art painted bat featuring Guerrero. Measuring 34” the bat has been covered in silver to resemble the Silver Slugger awards with a portrait of the 2018 BBHOFer brushed onto the barrel with “Vladimir” underneath going down the length of the lumber. Remaining in good condition and signed by the artist, an LOA for piece will accompany.
