Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Topping the Canadian Division and finishing second overall, the Montreal Maroons went 23-16-5 in 1929-30, with Nels Stewart serving as team captain and leading the club in scoring. Getting a bye to the Stanley Cup semifinals, the Maroons were defeated by Eddie Shore and the feared Boston Bruins. We have a Montreal Forum program for the November 14, 1929 contest between the Maroons and New York Rangers, won by the Blueshirts 2-1, with HOFer Bill Cook scoring the winning goal. Featuring a Maroon in action on the cover along with advertising from the heavily-collected Red Indian motor oil, the line-up is intact including HOFers Clint Benedict, Ching Johnson, Red Dutton, Hooley Smith and others, with a portrait image of Frank Calder and advertising from CCM and Planerts all within the 48-pages. Ideal for display, with a fairly clean cover, a piece of the back cover is missing, with a page to the interior also cut in half, with writing on one page.
