Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame’s builder’s category in 2002, Roger Neilson is well known for his ahead-of-its-time thinking to gain advantages over the competition and was behind the bench as head-coach for exactly 1000 NHL games. Presented here is this lot of two (2) Ottawa Senators framed limited-edition lithographs that have been signed by Neilson. The first lithograph shows the coach carefully observing a practice session. Measuring 15” x 22” with full framed dimensions of 23 ½” x 32” and housed in a brown frame that shows wear the the sides, the piece is serial numbered “410/2003” and has been signed by Neilson in the bottom right corner with a pencil autograph. The second lithograph measures approx. 13 ½” x 25 ½” with full frame dimensions of 23 ½” x 35 ½”. Housed in a similar brown wood frame that shows only light wear, the piece depicts a Sens practice and is numbered “151/7000”. Titled “Showdown”, both the artist and Neilson have signed the bottom once again, done in pencil. The signatures on both pieces display without issue.
