Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
A terrific catch for the Canadiens but very difficult to reel-in(!) was hockey giant Jean Beliveau – he played two seasons of senior hockey with the Quebec Aces before joining the Habs – with Parkhurst advertising its 1953-54 cards as “Giant” on its display boxes and Big Jean’s career rendering his rookie card the most important, valuable and coveted in the 100-card ’53-54 set. The offered example includes dings to the top and bottom right corners and an image right of center, as well as light peripheral toning. A relatively early PSA holder is labeled “EX-MT 6” and exhibits light vertical scratches. Do we need to get into Beliveau’s exceptional skill and illustrious career? We think not – good luck with this appealing J.B. RC.
