Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Often regarded as the best goalie of all-time, Terry Sawchuk posted an astounding 103 shutouts over the course of his 21-year NHL career, winning four (4) Stanley Cups along the way and being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1971, following his far too soon passing the year prior. A key card in Parkhurst’s sophomore hockey card set, Sawchuk is pictured here on card #86 of the 1952-53 release. Slabbed by PSA, this copy has been earned a NM 7 distinction after inspection. Describing Terry as the league’s best netminder on the back of the card, the front shows respectable centering and light dings to all four corners while the edges remain clean and the borders fairly white. The reverse of the card remains clean and nicely centered as well. The PSA holder has been well cared for, showing just a couple light scratches over each side. Additionally, the company’s population report shows that only 19 examples of the card have received higher grades, leaving you sure that you’d be getting one that is extremely desirable and seldomly seen. A true gem of the hobby!
