Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
With close-to-precise centering and still as mesmerizing as it was when it was first pulled from a 10-cent pack of O-Pee-Chee hockey cards during Ken Dryden’s official NHL season – what? a goaltender pictured wearing his goalie mask on a hockey card! – is this captivating example of big Ken’s coveted rookie card, the kingpin of OPC’s 1971-72 issue. A lightly-touched lower left corner and slight wear along part of the bottom edge is all that we can inform you of with regards to the card, while the front of the PSA holder itself exhibits a couple of scratches. For the uninformed, Dryden’s peerless legacy includes backstopping the Canadiens to six Stanley Cup triumphs in just a little over eight full seasons – remarkable.
