Coming off his second consecutive Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy win in 2008-09, Alexander Ovechkin would post his 4th fifty goal season of his five played in the NHL at that point, during the 2009-10 campaign. Hailing from the late-2000s, we have this stick used by Ovechkin. A CCM U+ model, with this stick from circa the 2009-10 season. “8 Ovi” factory graphics are seen over the shaft with the sniper’s red tape job finished with navy vinyl over the handle and knob with a handwritten “8” found as well while the blade retains its original white tape job as well. Factory barcode and serial number stampings are found on the underside of the shaft while a hologram from the Capitals is seen at the top of the shaft and numbered "0538". Good game-use is exhibited with puck marks present over the blade tape while additional marks/abrasions are found over the untapped section of the blade, heel and shaft of the stick. Additionally, Ovi has signed the heel of the stick with a bold silver ink signature that displays without issue with an added inscription of “RMNB” meaning “Russian Machine Never Breaks”. A Beckett sticker is placed on the lower shaft for the autograph.
