The third hockey card set ever released by Canadian company Parkhurst, the 1953-54 release saw the size increase as well as better quality images over the front and more informative bios and stat lines over the reverses. Offered here, is this starter set of the hobby favourite 1953-54 set. Spearheaded by a quartet of freshly graded PSA offerings that includes the likes of HOFers Maurice Richard (PSA EX 5), Terry Sawchuk (PSA EX 5) and Tim Horton (PSA VG-EX+ 4.5), also present is a PSA EX-MT 6 copy of card #30 that pictures both Richard and teammate Elmer Lach together after Maurice scored his then NHL record 325th goal. All in fresh and flawless PSA holders, the ground of raw ungraded cards is paced by EX range examples of 38-Dineen (slight corner wear) and 59-Raynor (slight corner wear) while VG-EX to EX scope cards include 40-Kelly (light corner wear), 47-Delvecchio (slight corner wear), 64-Stanley (light corner wear) and 82-Rollins (tiny corner ding at top right). Rounding out the key offerings with VG to VG-EX proximity examples of 55-Bentley (corner wear and a ding at the bottom border) and 96-Dumart (corner wear), G to VG neighbourhood cardboard features a copy of card #37 that pictures Al Arbour on the front (light crease bottom right) and a second copy of Alex Delvecchio's card #47 that has light creases at the top right that are worth mentioning for accuracy. Also including duplicates of 69-Peters (1), 72-Fogolin (2) and 84-Couture (1) to bring the total up to fifty-two (52) cards in all, the condition breakdown of those remaining and not listed includes two (2) around FR to G, three (3) around GOOD, nine (9) around VG-EX and twenty-four (24) around EX.
