Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
One of the premier stick retailers during the earlier days of the sport, Spalding began selling hockey sticks just before the turn of the century, with these usually manufactured by Canadian wood working companies. We have a choice example, with a circa 1910 Spalding Championship one-piece paper label stick. A full adult model, the period Spalding logo is stamped to the blade, with a good portion of the paper label remaining. The label shows endorsements from three teams (hard to make out), with one appearing to possibly be the Kenora Thistles. The stick remains nice and solid with no cracks or breaks, with just some toning as well as marks to the thick shaft.
