Originally drafted 5th overall by the Boston Bruins at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Phil Kessel has gone on to win a trio of Stanley Cup championships while recording a career total of 992 points and holds the National Hockey League record for most consecutive games played at 1064. Joining the U.S. National Team Development Program for the 2003-04 season where he registered 49 points in 32 games played, offered here is this Team USA jersey worn by Kessel during that first season in the program. Made by Nike, branding tagging displaying a size "54" designation is affixed to the inner collar along with IIHF Authentic Collection and "Made in Canada" labels as well while a USA Hockey logo is heat pressed alongside them. Decorated over the front with a Team USA crest in layered tackle twill with matching alternate logo patches over both shoulders, a Nike logo patch has been added over the right breast with an additional one over the reverse neckline. Accented over the reverse hem with an IIHF logo patch that has been sewn on, the sleeves and verso of the garment have had Kessel's number "81" affixed to them in dual layer tackle twill numerals while "Kessel" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters that have been heat pressed to the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the back. Exhibiting good game-wear via stick marks, board burns and unrepaired holes over both sleeves, a few more marks/burns are found near the right hip on the reverse. Displaying good pilling around the collar and elbows on the interior, the inside of the garment shows a fight strap that presents with evidence of numerous washings and a Nike Team Sports barcode the is heat pressed inside the reverse hem.
