Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Chosen as a first round selection by the Boston Bruins in 1997, Sergei Samsonov spent his first eight NHL seasons with the black and gold followed by time with five other clubs including Chicago. Samsonov has also represented his native Russia at every international level. From his final season in Beantown, we have a Bruins “Vintage” jersey worn by Samsonov in 2003-04, including in the Jan 19th contest vs the Rangers, where he netted a goal and two assists for a three-point night. A label with “54” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and CCM crests on the bottom hem. Styled with the classic Bruins team crest, “14” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Samsonov” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. Showing great game-use with puck and stick marks over the lower front and team crest, there are also a few additional marks and burns to the sleeves. A MeiGray crest numbered “B10462” resides on the inside hem, and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “Black Vintage Set 1 – Worn 1/19/04 vs NYR” specimen. An LOA will accompany.
