A Boston boy by birth and product of Boston University, Matt Grzelcyk was selected 85th overall at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the hometown Bruins. Featured here is this Boston Bruins “Hockey Fights Cancer” jersey that Grzlecyk wore during warm-up on October 29th, 2019 prior to the B’s matchup against the San Jose Sharks that has been signed by the Boston native. Swapping the traditional black and sport gold for black and lavender, made by Adidas, “56” sizing is affixed to the collar band, as well as on a separate patch below, with NHL and Adidas crests gracing the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with the familiar Bruins spoked-B team crest fully administered in tackle twill, the sleeves of the jersey have been accented with Grzelcyk's “48” on vinyl ribbon shaped patches and is found on the reverse in lavender numbers with the “4” having been signed by Matt with a fine black ink signature that displays well. An “I fight for” patch is affixed to the front at the lower hem while a “Hockey Fights Cancer” patch resides over the left shoulder. Worn for just the pre-game warm up, the jersey shows no obvious game wear and remains in beautiful condition. The piece is accompanied by a Bruins Foundation COA.
