Announcing his arrival on the professional scene with his very first NHL game occurring seven months after his 18th birthday, Bobby Orr first wore the classic spoked-B jersey of the Boston Bruins on Oct 19, 1966 vs Gordie Howe and the Detroit Red Wings, with the young superstar registering his first assist. Orr would score the first of his 270 NHL goals four days later vs the Montreal Canadiens, with his inaugural two-goal game played on Nov 23rd vs the Rangers, with the contest also witnessing the dominant blueliner net his first power-play goal. We have an MSG ticket stub from the historic Nov 23rd contest, graded “AUTHENTIC” by PSA. One of only three stubs from the contest to meet PSA's approval (in 'PSA certified' there is one graded PSA authentic along with our specimen, while in 'PSA/DNA certified' there is one graded PSA 2), the date and venue are listed along with the $5.00 ticket price. Orr’s goals would both come in the third period at 7:25 and 14:27 respectively but wouldn’t be enough as the Rangers skated to a 5-4 win. Sporting a few creases with tape marks at the top and bottom as well as a punch hole in the middle, the stub is ideal for any advanced Bobby Orr collection. Also included is a program from the contest that displays beautifully. Measuring 11” x 8.5” and remaining complete while exhibiting typical handing wear, the front cover has the final score handwritten on it while the scorecard on the inside also has been filled in with ballpoint pen.
