Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Ideal for the early hockey postcard and photo collector, we offer a group of 18 mostly antique hockey postcards, along with a few other items. Included, we have three individual hockey player postcards from the 1910s, with two showing the players in portrait image (one is trimmed down), two drawings of female hockey player postcards from the same era, with one labeled “Miss Canada”, two postcards of teams, one from 1919 (Sintaluta Wambeazlers), and one from 1922-23 (Climax Hockey team, trimmed down). This is followed by a trio of hockey scenes from the early-1900s, including “McGill Hockey Team” and the famous Victoria Rink – with this card having small shiny fragments glued on to give the appearance of ice! Next, we have a pair of mounted player photos cut away from a large original cabinet master photo, with each 6” x 4” give or take, a Northland Hockey Stick maker advertising envelope with 1924 postmark, a hockey-card sized photo of the Roblin hockey team (Manitoba) in the 1940s, 1949-50 and 1950-51 Fort Frances Canadiens Season Tickets, and a few other items. The majority of the postcards show wear but display nicely.
