A five-time all-star and a Cy Young winner in both 1972 and 1978, Gaylord Perry would be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the 1991 induction class. Hailing from the final stop of his Major League career is this signed game-worn Kansas City Royals hat worn by Perry during the 1983 season. Made by New Era, the royal blue cap with embroidered “KC” logo is tagged a size “7 ½” on the inside. Tags for New Era and Major League Baseball are present on the inside of the soiled white cloth sweatband with the rest of the hat remaining in excellent condition. A PSA/DNA sticker is also present on the sweatband for the Perry signature that has been penned on the green undervisor in blue ink. The signature shows well with lightness in areas. Perry’s number “36” is also found handwritten on the underbrim above the signature. An LOA from PSA/DNA accompanies the signature along with an LOA signed by Perry for the item and a COA from Heritage also included.
