Enjoying a lengthy career that witnessed over 1,200 regular-season games spread amongst just three clubs while also representing Canada internationally, Rob Blake is an eight-time All-Star, with the James Norris earned in 1998. The Simcoe native also won a pair of Stanley Cup championships, including as an executive with Los Angeles. From the 2003-04 NHL season, we have a photo-matched Avalanche alternate captain’s jersey worn by the HOFer during the regular-season and Stanley Cup playoffs. A label with “58” sizing is affixed to the collar, with CCM and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Featuring an attractive Avalanche team crest with embroidered detailing, the V-neck sweater has “4” sewn to the sleeves and verso in textured triple-twill, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. The alternate’s “A” resides over the left breast. The dual-clasp fight strap is intact. Showing great game-use with numerous marks to the front and sleeves, there are also small areas of pilling and paint transfer, with a large tear to the material near the right elbow. The jersey has been matched to six different images (each will accompany as a hard-copy photo), including Getty Images #50796772 and #50796720 (March 20, 2004) which have both been matched to the mark across the team crest, with the size and shape identical. A MeiGray patch numbered “B02468” is affixed to the inside hem, and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a "White 3rd Regular Season / Playoffs w/A" specimen. An LOA will accompany.
