Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Celebrating 100 years of the NHL, the Montreal Canadiens – the league’s oldest franchise – along with the Ottawa Senators, played an outdoor game at TD Place Stadium on December 16th 2017. Labeled the NHL 100 Classic, the contest was a rematch of one of the first two NHL games held on December 19th, 1917, played between the Canadiens and the original Ottawa Senators. Hailing from that historic rematch, is this pair of pants worn by a Montreal Canadiens player. Made by Bauer, the inside of the pants sports sewn in patches displaying “M/M” for the size as well as “Canadiens”. The thighs display the logos of the Canadiens and Bauer respectively while the NHL logo is embroidered into the rear of the right leg. The pants remain in excellent condition while exhibiting game-wear in the form of marks to the thighs and board burns to the left hip area. According to our consignor, the pants were worn by forward Paul Byron but we could not find any evidence to support this claim. Additionally included is a white Montreal Canadiens practice jersey worn during the team practice on December 15th, 2017. Made by Adidas, a label with “54” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests found over the front. Styled with a partially-embroidered textured Canadiens team crest and the classic Adidas stripes down the sides, there are no sleeve or verso numbers, with the NHL 100 Classic crest sewn to the right shoulder. Showing no wear, an LOA from the Montreal Canadiens will accompany.
