Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/21/2022
With his remarkable 22 shutouts in just 44 games in 1928-29 surely to stand the test of time, George Hainsworth spent numerous seasons with the Kitchener Greenshirts before replacing Habs legend Georges Vezina in the Canadiens net, and won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with Montreal in the early-1930s. Passing away at just 57 in 1950, a huge void was left for autograph collectors, with any Hainsworth specimen greatly sought. We offer an original January 7, 1928 La Presse picture of Hainsworth framed with signature cut. Matted along the border, the signature cut is 1 ½” x 4” and inserted beneath, with the pencil autograph displaying beautifully. The picture sports an errant pencil mark, and appears in otherwise excellent condition with a slight center fold visible. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
Please note; While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for any damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
