Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Lovers of food premiums, (and York Peanut Butter collectors in particular), will have their interest piqued by these enticing pieces, originally taped to bags of York peanuts some 60 years ago but still miraculously in their original cellophane packaging! The yellow/tape remnants point to the peanut segment of the promotion, with similar packages of transfers found under the lids of York Peanut Butter jars during the 1962-63 hockey season. An image of Johnny Bower and Frank Mahovlich’s facsimile autograph are clearly decipherable when checking out one pack here, with Henri Richard and Kent Douglas autographs unmistakable in the other. We do not detect any cellophane splits or openings – remarkable. Remarkable additions to your York or unopened material collection these fascinating scarcities will be.
