Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
It’s not often in life that one is able to eclipse their idol, but that’s exactly the case with Wayne Gretzky. On October 15th 1989, Wayne scored his 1,851st point to surpass the legendary Gordie Howe for all-time NHL points leader. Offered here, is this signed framed 16” x 20” serial numbered limited-edition player proof photograph of the two legends taken after Wayne eclipsed Howe’s mark with both holding pucks displaying their career point totals. Matted under black and white and housed in an elegant black frame that displays with minor wear to the corners, full framed dimensions come out to 30 ½” x 28 ½”. Both hockey legends have penned beautiful silver ink signatures over their respective images with Howe adding his famed “Mr. Hockey” moniker. Both signatures show without issue while “PP 3/10” has been added to the lower right corner alongside the WGA hologram, with a matching COA accompanying the piece.
