Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Entering the record books during just his third NHL season, netminder Ben Scrivens earned his first shutout with the Edmonton Oilers in a 3-0 win vs San Jose, on Jan 29, 2014, with the game noteworthy as Scriven’s 59 saves set the NHL record for the most saves in a shutout in history (the previous record was held by the Phoenix Coyotes’ Mike Smith). We have a puck used in the contest during the first period that was later signed by Scrivens, and originally offered in a charity auction by the Oilers. One of eight such pucks culled from the match according to the accompanying LOA (not including goal pucks), a label has been affixed to the reverse that lists all the particulars including the player, date and opponent, with a hologram from the Oilers affixed beneath, with the number matching the Oilers LOA. Scrivens has signed the obverse in silver marker, with the signature displaying well and the puck showing game use. A signed 8” x 10” photo card will also accompany.
