Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Developing a more “gentlemanly” style of play as his game developed as a two-time Lady Byng winner, Stan Mikita made appearances at nine All-Star matches from 1964 to 1975, and was also awarded multiple Art Ross and Hart Memorial Trophies. This team-signed stick was used by Mikita in 1978-79. A Northland Registered Pattern model, “Mikita” is stamped to each side of the shaft with “21” handwritten, along with team supplier Gunzo’s. With intact black tape job to the blade and white ribbed cloth pattern to the handle, nice game-use is shown including marks and paint transfer to the blade, with a bit of the fiberglass wrap missing at the toe. The shaft has been decorated with now faded red ink signatures of Stan and 14 of his Black Hawks teammates, including Tony Esposito, Ivan Boldirev, Mike Veisor, the late Keith Magnuson, Bob Kelly, Darcy Rota and others.
