Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
The unique look of the original Phoenix Coyotes jerseys from their 1996-97 inaugural season after the franchise moved from Winnipeg is written all over center Juha Ylonen’s white game-worn jersey. Ylonen played two games for the Coyotes in 1996-97, his second coming at home on his 25th birthday in Phoenix’s 2-1 loss to Colorado on February 13, 1997, one day after making his NHL debut in Dallas. NHL Center Ice and Starter tagging sit in the back of the neck with a size “54-R” tag sewn below them. “Official 1997-2 Game Worn Jersey” team patch is sewn inside the rear tail. Nice game wear shows in black marks on the back of the upper left sleeve, which has board burns, including one with red paint transfer on the elbow. The right sleeve has a mark in the “3”, a burn mark above that, and a black mark below the “6”. Cool first season Coyotes gamer with the “Goals for Kids” patch on the left shoulder. An LOA from the Phoenix Coyotes as well as a COR from MeiGray will come with this jersey.
