Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Forever immortalized as the first netminder to regularly don facial protection, Jacques Plante remains one of the greatest goaltenders in history, with his early passing in 1986 leaving a void for autograph collectors. For those searching for a nice example, we have a gorgeous cut signature from the goaltending legend. Encased in a Beckett holder that remains in excellent condition with the odd scratch found, Plante has penned a blue ink signature on a slip of paper measuring 2 ½” x 3 ½”. The signature remains strong and displays without issue with the paper slip exhibiting light toning with spotting at the left edge. An unidentified partial signature is seen on the backside in similar ballpoint pen.
