Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
World Hockey Association players joined NHLers in O-Pee-Chee’s unique 1972-73 set, with the binder housing this ensemble dominated by cards in the VG+ to EX range; you can anticipate a (lower) mid-grade average as VG cards are also involved, along with some pleasant EX-MT-or-better surprises. The regular issues of the two Bobbys have EX characteristics, with 129-Orr exhibiting some apparent black ink transfer and 334-Hull displaying a little-bit-grubby back. Orr NHL Action (#58) is rather sharp (EX-MT+) but is off-centered, while a crease or two and corner wear lowers 59-Lafleur (G+), 145-Dryden (G+) and 228-Hull All-Star (VG+). A notable low grade condition exception is the last card, 341-Pinder (P), with the checklist lowdown as follows: #6-1st Series (NM) is best but miscut, with 19-2nd Series multi-creased (one box is blackened), 190-2nd Series (unmarked VG-EX) and 334A-3rd Series (More WHA Hockey Stars)(heavily creased, one box blackened) also present. In short, a respectable assembly to consider.
