Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022

Mario Lemieux was in his second NHL season and the Edmonton Oilers were two-time defending Stanley Cup champions when O-Pee-Chee released its 1985-86 hockey card effort, with appealing NM-or-better examples accounting for a strong majority of this gathering. Unfortunately, the set’s two key rookie cards are condition exceptions, with enough corner/edge wear rendering Mario’s rookie VG+ in our book. Still respectable and with pleasing centering, card #9 also has a couple of small stains on the back to mention, while a right edge nick in Al MacInnis’ RC (near the Flames logo), drops it a tad below NM. The other star/key cards pulled from 9-pocket pages are in the aforementioned NM-or-better realm (or real close) – you’ll have fun determining which ones are NM+ or NM-MT or a notch or two higher. Second-year cards of Yzerman, Gilmour, Neely and Chelios, four different featuring Gretzky, a Pelle Lindbergh memorial card and Lemieux’s 262-Rookie Scoring Leaders card (EX-MT+) contribute to the lineup, with dozens of sharp, crisp cards to discover.
