After parts of 12 seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, Smyth found himself on Long Island as a member of the New York Islanders following the 2007 trade deadline, spending a total of 23 games with the club between the regular season and playoffs. From the playoff is this Islanders jersey worn by Smyth. A size “56” flag tag is affixed to the collar while embroidered logos of Reebok and the NHL adorn the back neckline and rear hem respectively. The front is styled with the familiar Islanders crest while the sleeves and verso are accented with Smyth’s “94” in tri-colour tackle twill with the Islanders alternate logo patch over the right shoulder. Good game-wear is visible with black marks over the lower front as well an unrepaired hole in the navy band. The backside of both sleeves also exhibits similar black marks. Getty Image #73939183 (April 20, Game 5 vs Buffalo) has been matched to the black mark above the navy band on the front of the jersey. A velcro patch is sewn to the interior hem as well as a MeiGray patch numbered “D05012” and according to their population report, the jersey is a “White Playoffs” specimen. An LOA will accompany.
