The seventh in the line of Winter Classic games played since 2008, the 2015 edition took place in Washington at Nationals Park where over 40,000 witnessed the Washington Capitals squeak out a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Black Hawks. This Capital’s jersey was worn in the first period of the contest by defenseman Mike Green. “56” size tagging and a Reebok name band are attached to the collar, with “2015 NHL Winter Classic” screened-on, along with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring “Capitals” along with a large “W” in textured twill across the chest, the tie-neck garment has been adorned with textured double-twill numbers and name-on-nameplate. Embroidered blue and white stars grace each sleeve along with the upper chest, with the important 2015 Winter Classic crest situated over the right shoulder. Worn in a single period, the game wear is light. It should be noted that the jersey has a number of stains to the front and sleeves which aren’t from game wear. A MeiGray patch numbered “L01177” sits on the inside hem, and according to their population report, the jersey is a “NHL-MGG Set Worn Period 1 - 1/1/15 at Nationals Park” example. An LOA from MeiGray will accompany the piece.
