Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Posting two of the greatest seasons ever played by an NHL netminder, Bernie Parent was awarded both the Vezina and Conn Smythe Trophies for his dominant performances in 1974 and 1975 respectively, helping to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to back-to-back Stanley Cup championships. We have a stick used by the HOFer during the first championship season of 1973-74. A Sher-Wood model, “Parent” and "1" is stamped over the upper shaft, with the original white tape in place over the blade, paddle and knob. There is also a French date stamp to the underside paddle of "23 Fev 1974". Showing heavy wear from use there is a large break/separation to the blade at the heel along with numerous cracks visible, with discolouration and staining from age and use to the tape throughout, with the paddle and shaft also quite worn, with marks, red paint transfer and discolouration.
