Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Immensely popular during their playing days, two all-time greats combine for an interesting lot here, with O-Pee-Chee’s 1936-37 die-cut cards designed to be folded in two and stood up. As you can see, the top section of the Howie Morenz card is no longer present, with a small light crease (head region) more obvious when viewing the back, where Morenz is indeed described as “One of the outstanding hockey stars for all time and always colorful.” Meanwhile, Harvey “Busher” Jackson’s card #124 displays as an EX example, with part of the die-cut section appearing not to have been popped. A name is written in ink on the back, while a tiny wrinkle above sends the card’s technical grade to VG+. Thought-provoking pre-war relics await their appreciative new home.
