Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022

As you can see, pleasing centering is featured among this 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee set’s “big three” of rookie cards, with Ken Dryden and Guy Lafleur RCs presenting nicer than their technical (VG+) grade. Small light creases (top right corner region) and a dinged upper left corner area affect the Dryden but a beauty unblemished surface is to report, while a small light back crease (near “148” when viewing the reverse) is to be aware of with the Lafleur rookie, as well as a little stain (front - bottom right corner). The rather attractive Marcel Dionne RC has EX+ characteristics, along with evidence of a partially-removed wax stain on the back. Other keys include 100-Orr (VG), special cards of Gordie Howe and Jean Beliveau (both VG+) and the two checklists; 111-1st Series is multi-creased and filled-in, with 264-2nd Series unmarked and crease-free but with minor paper loss on the reverse. Amid the rest, stored in 9-pocket pages, VG to EX appears to be the range that dominates, with creases not plentiful and better examples also spotted and 114-Clarke a notable condition exception with scotch tape stains. In summary, an opportunity to add a hobby favorite to your set collection or break up for decent inventory merits consideration.
