Earning the nickname “The Eliminator” by tying a record in 2004 with three series-winning goals in a single playoff year, Martin Gelinas was drafted by Los Angeles in 1988 and dressed for seven different NHL clubs throughout his lengthy career. From the earlier portion of his tenure, we have an Edmonton Oilers playoffs jersey worn by Gelinas during his second full NHL season, in 1990-91. Measuring-out to a size 54 with a Maska label affixed to the collar with “90/91 3” for the year and “Set 3” handwritten beneath, embroidered CCM and NHL crests grace the reverse hem. Styled with a layered Oilers tackle twill team crest, “20” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Gelinas” across the nameplate in royal blue twill. The dual-clasp fight strap is also intact. Exhibiting heavy wear throughout including numerous puck and stick marks, there are also burns and areas of paint transfer, with a few team repairs to each lower sleeve including a large clump over the left elbow. A letter from the Oilers and COR from MeiGray will accompany.
